After a great start to the 2010 Sunshine Tour season, but a less than successful one in Asia, Keith Horne will be looking to find the form which saw him finish 25th on the 2009 Asian Tour Order of Merit, and breathe new life into his campaign at this week’s Brunei Open.
After making a fast start to 2010 with an 18th place finish at the Africa Open and claiming second alone a week later at the Joburg Open, Horne started his 2010 Asian Tour season at the Avantha Masters where he unfortunately missed the cut. Two more attempts at the Malaysian Open and the Ballantines Championship also ended in missed cuts.
South Africa has proved to be a better hunting ground for Horne this year as he has recorded top-10 finishes in five of seven events played including his win at the Investec Royal Swazi Open. However, there are still plenty of tournaments left on the Asian Tour for him to make his mark once more.
Horne will be joined at the Brunei Open by two more young Sunshine Tour members, Jbe' Kruger and Peter Karmis.
Kruger has also enjoyed a successful start to 2010 with his second career victory, this at the Africom Zimbabwe Open, as well as two more top-10 finishes in the Africa Open and the Vodacom Championship.
His first trip to the Asian Tour this year was fairly successful as Kruger finished tied for fourth. However, he experienced a dip in form over the next four tournaments missing the cut three times while finishing tied for 59th in the Air Bagan Myanmar Open.
Karmis makes his return to the Asian Tour for his fifth event of the season after missing the cut in two and finishing down the field in the other two.
